Roanoke City Art Show will celebrate its 30th anniversary (Happy Anniversary!) throughout 40 Days + 40 Nights October 2 - November 8. 

Beth Grabowski, Professor of Art at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, serves as juror and will give a special artists’ lecture on Thursday, October 1.

Last year’s first place award went to Ann Glover - pictured above.

Olin Hall Galleries is Our First Entry for 40 Days + 40 Nights!!!

Olin Gallery Galleries at Roanoke College will present Margaret Evangeline’s Polychromatic Series on Friday, October 30 @ 5:30.  (The show runs through December 11)  More info coming soon!  www.roanoke.edu/olingallery

As a New York based, Louisiana-born artist, Evangeline explores different mediums that “deepens the immediacy of a moment.”

40 Days + 40 Nights (An Arts and Culture Explosion) welcomes any/all sorts of arts and cultural events. Hip hop, poetry readings, art installations, jazz, modern dance, you name it, we’ve got a place for it!

It's Starting to Rain!

MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATION (Okay, okay…it’s ALL important, but these are key things to remember!)

1) The deadline to submit your events/activities is Monday, July 20. (To be listed in the FREE take-away booklet.) There is no deadline for inputting your events/activities in the 4040 calendar.

2) The ad reservation deadline is Monday, July 13. If you’re a member of The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge we’ll give you free listings with images. However, if you want an extra plug for your event you may also purchase ad space.

3) This is a great marketing/promotional opportunity for you/your organization. We’re printing 5-10,000 take away booklets throughout the region, will promote your events/activities to area hotels with 4040 Fall Get-Away Packages and more!

Newsflash Regarding 40 Days + 40 Nights and the Roanoke Arts Festival: City Soul!

40 Days + 40 Nights (An Arts and Culture Explosion) is back! The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge is hard at work and will annouce guidelines and deadlines by May 1.

The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge will also coordinate the Third Annual Roanoke Arts Festival: City Soul! as part of 40 Days + 40 Nights.

Please note: 40 Days + 40 Nights (An Arts and Culture Explosion) and the Roanoke Arts Festival: City Soul! are promotional opportunities ONLY. The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge does not have funding to pay artists, arts organizations or cultural organizations for their participation.

However, this is a wonderful promotional opportunity! We will promote all events and activities via FREE take away booklets, print/radio and social media applications. Participation is free to members of The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge. A nomimal fee - to cover administrative costs - for non-members is $100.
